Quiz #2

Hi class. Well, the snow finally came. I'm not sure how it is where you are, but the roads in my neighbourhood are moderately awful. I want to hunker down and do nothing, but I have to pick up my son at the school in a couple hours. Sigh...

As promised, here are the quiz questions I came up with. Let me know if you have any questions.

1.   Which skills do you think are the most effective in developing reading competency?

2.   Discuss the benefits of using task based instruction to develop communicative reading competency as opposed to strategies that focus only on reading comprehension.

3.   Discuss the differences between inductive and deductive teaching. Why is an inductive approach generally favoured?

4.   Discuss the steps in effective writing (whether it be narrative, descriptive or expository writing).

I'll try to be there Wednesday night at 6pm just like last time. If you

want to come early,  you can leave early too.
